SOIL AND TOPOGRAPHY
The necessary balance
The terroir of our farm is limestone and permeable clayey sand. We find some markedly more calcareous plots around the Riu de Gost.
The calcareous soil brings great acidity and balance to our wines. Clayey sand provides us with the necessary balance in water management: it drains when there is plenty of it and retains it in times of drought. It is also the backbone of the tension and length that we find in our wines.

The orientation of our property means that it has optimal solar exposure. And the slope of some of our vineyards helps with water drainage. Both factors are very important in obtaining high quality grapes.
The Carme-Capellades aquifer crosses our lands. The aquifer has an area of 157km2 and stores groundwater. The fact that it circulates at great depth does not affect the vineyards, but instead allows us to have wells that make it possible to irrigate the vineyard in years of drought. This fact will be very relevant for the future.
